Hi, I’m Michaela!

I’m a doula who is deeply passionate about supporting families through one of the biggest transitions in their lives.

My connection to birth started early. My mom is a labor and delivery nurse, and hearing about her work and the stories of welcoming new babies into the world sparked my interest from a young age. I’ve always been drawn to the experience of pregnancy, birth, and those first moments of becoming a parent. It’s such an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming, especially when there’s so much information (and pressure) coming from every direction.

My role as a doula is to provide steady, supportive guidance so you can feel more confident and prepared throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. I’m here to help you understand your options, talk through your concerns, and support you in making decisions that feel right for you.

I believe that birth is not one-size-fits-all. Every family has different values, preferences, and goals, and you deserve support that reflects that. Whether you’re hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning to use an epidural, or still figuring out what you want, my goal is to meet you where you are without judgment.

In addition to my work as a birth doula and a certified lactation consultant in training, I am also a licensed therapist. While therapy services are not included in my doula or lactation support, my background shapes the way I show up: with empathy, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s experience during this time.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to help you feel supported, informed, and confident as you move through this experience. I feel truly honored to walk alongside families during such a meaningful time, and if you’re looking for that kind of support, I would love to connect.

A bit about me outside of being a doula

When I’m not working with families, you can usually find me leaning into what I lovingly call my “grandma hobbies” reading, crocheting, solving puzzles, and spending time with my husband and our cats. These slower, creative moments help me recharge so I can be fully present for the families I support.

My Approach

My approach to doula care is grounded in respect, collaboration, and evidence-based information. I work alongside your medical providers and support system to help ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

Birth is both a physical and emotional process, and the environment surrounding labor can have a real impact on how it unfolds. Creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and able to relax allows your body to do the work it is designed to do.

I also believe there is room for lightness and even laughter in the birth space. Moments of connection, humor, and reassurance can help ease tension and support the natural release of oxytocin, the hormone that plays a key role in labor and bonding. When people feel safe, supported, and able to breathe and laugh, it can help labor progress more smoothly.

Whether you are planning a hospital birth, birth center birth, or home birth, my role is to support you in the experience you want while helping you feel steady and cared for throughout the process.

What Working With Me Feels Like

Working with me feels like having someone in your corner who is steady, supportive, and genuinely invested in your experience.

It’s a space where you can ask questions, talk things through, and be honest about what you’re feeling without worrying about judgment or pressure. You don’t have to have it all figured out. We take it one step at a time, together.

It feels calm and grounded, even in moments that might feel uncertain or overwhelming. I’m there to help you slow things down, come back to what matters to you, and move forward with confidence.

It’s supportive in a way that includes your whole team. Your partner isn’t on the sidelines. I help them feel more comfortable, involved, and confident in supporting you, too.

It might look like deep conversations, quiet reassurance, or even a little laughter when you need it most. Birth can be intense, but it can also hold moments of lightness and joy.

After your baby arrives, that support doesn’t just disappear. You have someone to check in with, process your experience, and help you navigate those early days of postpartum life.

At its core, working with me feels like being supported, seen, and not alone in one of the most meaningful transitions of your life.

We might work together well if…

• You’re looking for steady, compassionate support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

• You want to feel informed about your options, but not overwhelmed by them.

• You appreciate a balance of emotional support, humor, and practical guidance.

• You’re hoping to feel more confident and prepared, even if you’re still figuring out what kind of birth you want.

• You want your partner to feel supported and included in the experience, too.

• You’re open to guidance, encouragement, and a little laughter along the way.

• You want someone in your corner who truly respects your values, your preferences, and your unique experience.

• You don’t want to do this alone.

Let’s work together!
